How to Ask Fyn

Use Fyn, the Fynance AI assistant, to get answers and act on your books in any language.

Fyn is the Fynance AI assistant: ask it how to do something in the portal, ask about your numbers, or tell it what happened and let it help you record it. It answers in the language you write in.

Open Fyn

  1. Click Ask Fyn at the bottom of the sidebar, or press Cmd+K (Mac) / Ctrl+K (Windows).
  2. The Fyn panel opens on the left. The note under Ask Fyn shows what is waiting for you (for example, "1 waiting for a category").

Ask a question

  1. Pick a suggestion card, such as Transactions waiting for a category, How do I clear pending classifications?, Where do I connect my bank account? or Why might profit and loss be blocked?, and click Go.
  2. Or type in the box at the bottom (Tell me what happened, or ask me anything) and press Enter or the arrow button.
  3. Fyn answers with steps and usually offers a next action (for example, listing your pending transactions). Reply in the chat to continue.

Other ways to talk to Fyn

  • Paperclip: attach a file, such as a receipt or document, to give Fyn context.
  • Microphone: dictate your question instead of typing.
  • Any language: write in English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German or Italian and Fyn replies in the same one.

Good questions to ask Fyn

  • "Which transactions still need a category?"
  • "What was my net income last month?"
  • "Why doesn't my balance match my bank?"
  • "How do I create an invoice?"

Manage the conversation

  • Click the refresh icon to start a new conversation.
  • Click Menu to close Fyn and return to the main navigation.

Fyn helps you understand and act, but a transaction counts in your reports only after it is confirmed. Always check its suggestions before you confirm.
