My Balance Doesn't Match My Bank

Find out why the balance in Fynance differs from your bank and how to fix it.

On Bank Accounts, each card shows In Fynance (the balance from your transactions) and whether it matches your bank. When they differ, one of these four causes is almost always the reason.

  1. New activity not imported yet. Click Refresh transactions and check again. The bank balance shows the date and time it was last updated.
  2. Pending transactions. The yellow banner shows how many transactions are still waiting for review and their total. Confirm them in Transactions > Pending review.
  3. Wrong opening balance. If the difference is the same amount every month, the opening balance entered when you connected or created the account is off. Contact support to correct it.
  4. Missing or duplicate transactions. Compare your bank statement with Transactions, filtered by that account and month. Import what is missing (see Importing Earlier History) or delete duplicates (see Undoing Mistakes).

About the Stripe balance

The total In Fynance at the top of Bank Accounts includes your Stripe balance, so it can be higher or lower than your bank total. A negative Stripe balance usually means fees or payouts are recorded but the matching payments are not yet imported.
