Disconnecting or Reconnecting a Bank
Reconnect a bank that stopped syncing, disconnect an account or move to a new bank.
You can disconnect a bank account at any time. Transactions already imported stay in your books, so your reports do not change.
Reconnect when a connection stops syncing
Banks sometimes ask you to sign in again, for example after you change your password. When that happens, new transactions stop arriving.
- Go to Bank Accounts and look for an account that is no longer marked Connected, or whose last update is old.
- Click the refresh icon on the account card. If the bank asks you to sign in again, follow the Plaid steps.
- Click Refresh transactions and check that new activity arrives.
Disconnect an account
- Go to Bank Accounts and open the account card.
- Choose the option to disconnect it.
- The account stays in Fynance with its history. New transactions will not be imported.
Replace a bank
If you move to a new bank, connect the new account with Connect account and keep the old one disconnected. Record the movement of your balance between them as a transfer (see Transfers Awaiting Their Pair).
Your bank credentials are never stored in Fynance. The connection runs through Plaid.
